This plant hangs and has little “balls”. I would like to know what it is..as well as if I can get a rooting?
Hi Julie, this is one of my favorite little plants – it’s known variously as ‘String of Pearls’ or ‘String of Peas’ which describes it perfectly. Its botanical name is Senecio rowleyanus.
If you do some research on this genus, you’ll most likely find that it has flowers like little white daisies, which are supposed to be fragrant – definitely something to look forward to.
They also propagate incredibly easily – just snip off one of the long strands and cut it into one or two inch pieces, and lay them on the top of some potting soil. Several in a hanging basket will make a fuller plant, sooner.
Have fun!
