Alll Plants Need Light

The way plants grow is by converting light to energy, so they all need light of some sort to survive.

The best plants for low light range from African Violets, to ferns to some types of palms. The best way to display them is to rotate them from brighter light areas of your home, or even from a grow light, to the lower light areas, on a short term basis.

There are very few succulents that don’t mind lower light levels, such as Sansevieria, or the mother in laws tongue. They really thrive without much light at all, but out of all the succulents, that’s really the only one.

Without knowing more about your specific situation, you may need to test out different types of plants – buy the smallest ones you can find (not the $50 specimen plants) and trial them in your conditions. Whichever ones do the best, use that as a guide for future purchases.
