Hello, I have a golden raintree that is dropping the small pollen-like flowers on my vegetable garden. Is this poisonous or will the flower be toxic to the soil around vegetables.Thank you,
Julie Holmes.

Not to my knowledge by: Jacki Cammidge, Certified Horticulturist As far as I know, this tree (Koelreuteria paniculata) is not phytotoxic, either the roots or any other parts. The only genus that is poisonous to other plants is the walnut (genus Juglans) so I think you’re safe. The other benefit to your tree is that the leaves are very fine, and won’t pack down and smother lawn growing underneath it. |
